by isleofman.com 18th July 2013
The inquests into the deaths of two Southern 100 competitors have been open and adjourned this morning.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham opened the cases of Robert Leonard Paul Thomas and Mark Madsen-Mygdal at Douglas Courthouse this morning.

Mr Thomas died last Thursday after the 57 year old from Ballasalla fell out of a sidecar, sustaining multiple injuries at the Billown circuit.

He was revived at the scene but later died at Noble’s Hospital.

Meanwhile, the court heard 23 year old Mr Madsen-Mygdal of Murray’s Road in Douglas was in a collision between Stadium Corner and Castletown Corner.

A post mortem examination showed he’d died from multiple injuries.

Mr Needham adjourned the hearings to a date to be fixed.
