Businesses offer facilities for Local Youths

by isleofman.com 22nd July 2013

Two local businesses in the South of the Island, The Bowling Green Cafe, Castletown and The Ice Cream Parlour on the Lower Promenade, Port Erin have offered to extend their opening hours on specific evenings during the summer holidays in order to provide local young people a facility in which to meet.

The Bowling Green Cafe will open 6pm until 9pm every Wednesday and The Ice Cream Parlour will open 6pm to 10pm every Friday evening.

Both will be offering for sale various soft drinks and snacks as well as free wifi access.

Both the Bowling Green Cafe and The Ice Cream Parlour have recognised that there is a need to offer young people a place to go rather than walk the streets.

It is hoped that this welcome initiative by two local businesses in offering these facilities, supported by the Youth Services, local Authorities and the Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team will be well utilised and supported by youths of all ages throughout the holidays
