School is out for summer and Manx National Heritage have great value fun in store for kids, teens and parents.
For a creative kick-start the summer holidays book on our art workshops where young people can create their own mini masterpiece inspired by the magnificent works of Manx artist, John Miller Nicholson. Afternoon sessions available on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th July for ages 6 – 16 years, tickets ?5 in advance from the Manx Museum Shop.
On Thursday 25th July for the more adventurous explorers join in the Bug Hunt at Rushen Abbey. Open from 5pm for picnics and garden games, the mission begins at 6.30pm where children and parents can have a go at pond-dipping for mini-beasts, rummaging in the leaf litter for bugs and tickling tree branches for spiders! The event is standard admission so Friend’s members, season passes and ACE cards go free.
Or relax and unwind in the spectacular setting of Peel Castle whilst enjoying an evening open-air performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ by TNT Theatre on 9th and 10th August. A Sunday matinee performance is showing in the beautiful gardens of Rushen Abbey on 11th August. Bring along a picnic, chairs and warm clothing – the performance continues whatever the weather. Tickets are ?20 adult, ?12 child available from the Manx Museum Shop, House of Manannan, Rushen Abbey and online.
The ACE card scheme is kindly supported by Lloyds TSB and provides free entry to all Manx National Heritage attractions for young people aged 18 and under in full-time education on the Isle of Man including entry to some special site events.
Parents and adults can opt for a season pass, just ?20, providing unlimited entry to the sites making family days out this summer great value.
