Coastal Walk in aid of Hospice IOM

by isleofman.com 24th July 2013
A UK based fundraiser is walking the walk for Hospice starting next Sunday 28th July. Steve Holmes is walking memory of his Dad, Alan, who was well known locally in Port Erin. Steve will walk 97 miles along the coastal paths starting and ending at Port Erin and is coming especially to the Island to complete this endeavour. He aims to walk 25 miles per day and will be supported by the Thompson family of Ballabeg.

He will be doing this amazing feat for Hospice Isle of Man as sadly his Dad died this time last year and he wanted to do something. Steve added: “The care he received in his last days was immense saying thank you at that time did not really express my families gratitude.” “As Dad lived in Port Erin and was well known locally walking his dog “Bennie” in and around Port Erin, I thought it appropriate to start and finish in his hometown.”  He also mentioned his Dad was a member of Probus who meet at the Cherry Orchard.
