Students from the Markgrafin-Wilhelmine grammar school in Bayreuth delighted visitors including Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass when they gave an alfresco concert in Ramsey’s Mooragh park.
The students were in the Island as part of an exchange agreement with Ballakermeen High School.
The Markgrafin-Wilhelmine school was founded in 1896 and named after Princess Wilhelmine of Prussia, a German composer who married the Margrave of Bayreuth. The school is noted for excellence in music and languages.
