Moody's to review Island's bond rating

by isleofman.com 28th July 2013

The treasury minister says a review of the government's AAA bond ratings by Moody's Investors Services "isn't unexpected".

The Island is rated by Standard and Poor's and Moody's.

Last year S&P downgraded the Island to AA plus.

It said the fact the Island didn't have its own independent currency or central bank would make it difficult for the Island to retain its top rating.

It's now being widely speculated by various agencies that Moody's will make a similar move.

Mr Teare says while a team from Moody's visited the Island recently and didn't have any issues with the Island's finances they would appear to have other concerns:Clip 1
