Ben sailings cancelled after fishing tangle

by isleofman.com 29th July 2013
The Ben-my-Chree did not sail last night (Sunday).

Crossings to and from Heysham were cancelled after ropes from a local fishing boat became entangled around both of the vessel’s propellers.

It’s understood the diving team was unavailable to clear the ropes due to government cut backs on overtime.

An alternative service to Heysham on the Manannan was subsequently arranged.

The timetable is set to run as scheduled with the diving team available to free the ropes this morning.
