The Department wishes to advise that an emergency road closure to the A36 Shoulder/Round Table Road is required to repair the road where a hole has appeared in the surface. An inspection has identified that water has got under the road and washed out some of the fill material, creating a void, which has subsequently caused a localised collapse of the road.
The repair works are scheduled to take up to one week to complete. It is not possible to open up one side of the road, as the void is located in the middle of the road.
