Curtain raiser to Manx season

by isleofman.com 9th August 2013
Champions St. George's and FA Cup holders St. Mary's meet in the Eric Fletcher Charity Shield at The Bowl this evening.

Kick-off is at 7pm.

St. George's won the Premier League, plus the Hospital and Railway Cups but were beaten by St. Mary's in Easter Monday's FA Cup Final.

Ultimately, that defeat prevented the Geordies becoming the first side in Manx football history from completing back-to-back Grand Slams.

Two players will be under the spotlight - Tom Weir has joined St. George's from St. Mary's during the summer and former Glencrutchery Road favourite Neil Brogan has moved to St. Mary's from Laxey.
