Mountain Road closed throughout today

by isleofman.com 11th August 2013
The Mountain Road is closed today (Sunday) as the Department of Infrastructure carries out emergency repairs before the Festival of Motorcycling starts next weekend.

The road near the Les Graham Memorial Shelter needs resurfacing after inspections showed rippling on the racing line.

The department says it suspects the damage has been caused by the recent heatwave and the work can’t wait – it was due to be repaired in September.

The road is shut between Lheaney Road in Ramsey to the Creg ny Baa from 8am today until 6am on Monday.
