Man pleads guilty to Indecent Assault on a child and Possession of Indecent Images

On Friday, 9th August 2013, at a Court of General Gaol Delivery in Douglas, 24 year old Andrew James Maddrell of Douglas, formerly a Nursery Worker at Sandcastles Kindergarten, pleaded guilty to an offence of indecent assault against a child of 3 years. Other offences in relation to separate charges towards children were withdrawn.
 
Mr Maddrell had previously appeared at a Court of General Gaol Delivery, on Tuesday 6th August 2013, where he also pleaded guilty to an offence of possessing 232 indecent images of children.
 
The matter has been adjourned until 23rd September 2013 for sentencing.  Deemster Montgomerie remanded Mr Maddrell into custody until that date.
