Tribute to Manx service personnel

The contribution of Manx men and women to save others during the Second World War was remarkable.

Those are the words of Anita Turpin whose mother was one of many people resuced by Steam Packet Company vessels in 1940.

Ms Turpin recently visited the Island and the resting place of the Mona's Queen anchor in Port St Mary - the ship evacuated her mother from Belgium during the war.
