Future of A-levels considered

Are A-levels fit for purpose or should there be widespread changes? After yesterday’s results, the focus is now on the future of the qualification.

UK Education Secretary Michael Gove has told teachers he’s planning a shakeup of the system which would introduce some fundamental changes.

But the plans haven’t been universally well-received, with some teachers saying any changes should be well-tested before they’re brought in.

The Island’s branch secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers Andrew Shipley says the profession has a great deal of faith in the A-level system.Clip 1
