It's been closed for a prolonged period to allow roadworks to take place.
Work on the road and pavement between Glencrutchery Road and Norwood Drive has finished - work on side roads should be over early next week.
The department says further work on pavements between Barrule Road and Norwood Drive will continue throughout the Festival of Motorcycling.
