Festival of Motorcycling underway!

by isleofman.com 20th August 2013
The Festival of Motorcycling finally got underway last night (Mon) after poor weather meant disappointment for those waiting for a practice session at the weekend.
In glorious sunshine, newcomers were the first to set off around the Mountain Circuit last night for an un-timed speed-controlled lap.
They were the first competitors on the course for the inaugural festival which incorporates a number of events including the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT.
But after oil spills at Barregarrow and Greeba, the session was delayed and there was just a single true practice lap.
Practising continues this evening (Tues) at 6.20pm when the Classic machines get away in the first timed session for all classes.
