by isleofman.com 21st August 2013
Riders finally got a full practice session in for the Festival of Motorcycling during last night’s (Tues) Festival of Motorcycling.
Bad weather and oil spills had hampered the first two sessions on Saturday and Monday.
Michael Dunlop posted a blistering lap of 120.89 miles per hour on his team classic Suzuki to top the leaderboard in the opening timed Classic TT session.
2010 Junior MGP winner Michael Sweeney had the fastest lap in the first timed session for the MGP with 116.229 on his Yamaha R6.
There were two incidents during the session. Peter Richardson was taken to hospital by helicopter with suspected fractures, after coming off his machine at the Gooseneck. Bruce Verden came off at Sulby but was said to be OK.
For many riders it was their first chance to fully get to grips with the course.
Local newcomer Calum Collister told Tim Glover he’d enjoyed himself.
