Record returns home!

by isleofman.com 27th August 2013
The Isle of Man has won back a world record title many say should never go off-Island again!

Six hundred and forty nine pairs of people stepped-out on Douglas beach in May, their legs tied, to win back the Guinness Book of Record three legged title.

The title was lost to Japanese students in 2011, then snatched by a high school in Morecambe last year.

But the Manx effort in May has been verified as the official new standard by Guinness World Records, who've congratulated those who took part as 'officially amazing'.

The event brought thousands of people onto the beach and prom on the early May bank holiday.

One of the organisers, Chris Pycroft from Douglas Development Partnership, says it achieved more than setting a new record:Clip 1
