Police are currently trying to establish the whereabouts of Stefan Proverbs, a 33 year old male, who is of mixed race and has a Manchester accent. They wish to trace him in relation to a serious assault which occurred at about 3am on Monday 26th August, 2013, in a flat in Princes Avenue, Douglas.
Detective Sergeant Brian Shimmin who is leading the investigation said: “We would really like to trace Mr Proverbs as soon as we can. I’d further ask to hear from any person who has seen any activity in the area of Princes Avenue or adjoining Streets around that time.
It is believed that a bladed article was involved and the victim, a 23 year old man, from Douglas, received surgery for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
I would like to reassure the public that although this was a serious assault, there is not believed to be a risk to the public in general. If you do see him please call us on 631212 or alternatively via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. He may even be living rough. Meanwhile Police enquiries are continuing.
Finally, I’d remind any person harbouring him or who does anything to impede his arrest or prosecution may well be subject of an investigation themselves”.
