Improved bus timetable launched for the new school term

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2013
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has confirmed enhancements to the bus timetable with effect from Wednesday 4 September to coincide with the new school term.

The new timetable features an extension of two services to Port St Mary, which will provide better frequency at peak times.

There are slight changes to the service numbers 5 and 6, due to the ongoing road works on Peel Road. Daytime journeys (between 9am and 5pm) will now terminate at Lord Street. They will also be departing five minutes earlier than usual to accommodate for the roadwork’s diversions.

The following changes will be applied to school services:

•         Douglas Schools
o   33A renumbered 33, operates via Willaston between St Ninian’s Upper and Lower schools.
o   45 no longer serves Tromode Village.

•         Route 58 (Ramsey Juniors)
o   Route amended in pm to operate from Scooil Ree Gorree directly to May Hill and Queens Drive, then via RG to northern parts of Ramsey.

•         QE2 Services
o   Route 50 reintroduced from Kirk Michael.
o   Route 52 reintroduced from Saddlestone.

•         CRHS Services
o   66 starts at Cooil Road, not Newtown.
o   New service 62 to operate pms via Shore Rd, Beach Rd to PSM Harbour, then Cregneash and Sound.
o   Route 64 to operate 1535 from Arbory School to Ronague, then CRHS back to Ronague AND Ballakipheric.
o   Route 65 withdrawn. Arbory pupils have to use 64, or route 1 1525 ex PSM.

The new timetables will be available online from Monday 2 September.
