Peel lifeboat with its volunteer crew was launched at shortly after 1pm today, Tuesday 3rd September to assist the police in recovering a lady from the water close to Peel groyne.

The lady who was agitated and argumentative apparently leapt into the water and refused to get out. Two police officers entered the water to help but the lady would still not get out. Peel RNLI lifeboat under the command of coxswain John Hunter arrived on the scene and launched an inflatable dinghy with crewman Marc Marshall on board who assisted the police officers in getting the lady back to shore where she was transferred to an ambulance.

John Hunter paid tribute to Marc Marshall “for his efforts in the recovery”.
