Inquest into death of biker opened and adjourned

The inquest into the death of a motorcyclist who died following an accident on Douglas promenade has been opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse.

Fifty-one-year-old James McFarlane from Edinburgh was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Thursday, August 22 which also involved three cars.

He died in hospital the next day.

Investigations into the accident are continuing, and the coroner of inquests adjourned proceedings to a date to be fixed.
