Lifeboat rescues kayakers

Douglas lifeboat went to the aid of kayakers stranded near Douglas Breakwater yesterday.

The crew launched just after at 8.20pm after reports two kayakers were stranded on the seaward side of the sea wall.

A team from the coastguard service scrambled down the sea wall while the lifeboat used its lights to illuminate the scene.

Both kayakers were brought ashore safely and nobody was injured during the incident.
