by isleofman.com 6th September 2013

Over 100 children took part in a colouring competition run in conjunction with this summer's Southern and Royal Manx Agricultural shows.

Pictures of a farmyard scene were available for collection at the Isle of Man Bank tent at both the events with the children being able to take the drawings away, colour them in and return to the Bank before the deadline.  There were two age groups - under five and six to eleven.

A panel from the Bank's design agency acted as judges with the first three entries in each category receiving prizes of  Toy Master vouchers to the value of ?75, ?50 and ?25.  Said Campaign and Communications Manager Matt Cory: 'In all, we had an outstanding 108 pictures submitted to us.

'With such impressive entry numbers the task facing the judges was immense and they commented on the high standard of work from both age groups, some of which was quite remarkable for very young children.'

Winners were: Under 5 - 1st Alfie Hope, 2nd Ella Edwards; 3rd Estrid Hedqvist; 6-11 - 1st Jessica Keating, 2nd Francesca Fairbairn, joint 3rd William Teare and Lily Cleary.  The prizewinners went along to Isle of Man Bank's Regent Street branch where they received their vouchers from Lyn Costain, Deputy Branch Manager Regent Street; Sarah Cain, Retail Support Assistant; Michelle Seed, Branch Manager at Castletown and Matt Cory, Campaign and Communications Manager.
