Police appeal after assault on Saturday evening

The Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault which occurred just before midnight on Saturday 14th September 2013. At that time the victim was stood near to The British Public House on the quay when he has been approached by a group of males. One of the male’s responsible who is described as approximately 18 years of age wearing a black T shirt and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms has punched the victim to the side of his head. The group of males then ran off prior to the arrival of police officers. 
 
PC Dave Kneen is investigating the matter and said that the assault was unprovoked and appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this assault or have any information that may assist to get in touch at Lord Street Police station on 631212 or speak with any officer.
