Police appeal after swan killed in Ramsey

Ramsey police are investigating a mindless act of animal cruelty.

At approximately 5pm on Saturday 14th September 2013 Police were notified that there was a dead swan in the harbour near to the bridge on Bowring Road. This was confirmed upon Police arrival. Three youths aged between 14 and 16 years of age that had been seen in the immediate area. Police would like to speak with these youths. Two were wearing light blue “hoodies” and the other was wearing a black jacket. It is believed they have walked towards town after the incident.
 
The area was busy at the time as people were leaving the football stadium and the incident has happened near to the bridge. Police would encourage the person or persons responsible to come forward and identify themselves to any Police Officer. CCTV has been requested and will be viewed in an attempt to identify the offender(s).
 
Anyone who may have any information that may be of help to the Police and their enquiries are encouraged to come forward.
