Good day for Southern Nomads

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2013
Two good performances from Southern Nomads put their first and second teams into the top two places in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield table.
Southern Nomads thrashed Ramsey B 103-0 at King Williams College.
Rob Craine was the star for the reigning champions with four tries, there were also hat-tricks from Furo Davies and Richard Seed, plus tries from Ally Kelly, Steve McHugh, Jonathan Crellin and Ian Hargreaves.
Will Cain converted all but one to pile on the misery for Ramsey.
Emerging Nomads won the local derby at Poulsom Park beating Castletown 17-5 in a tight game.
A Dave Prince try gave Nomads an early lead and Harry Best doubled it on quarter of an hour.
Tom Watterson grabbed one back for Castletown early in the second half but a 40 metre run in from full back Best secured the game for Nomads, with Chris Beaumont adding the conversion for good measure.
In the final game of the round Vagabonds B picked up their first win of the season with a 43-10 defeat of Western Vikings at Ballafletcher.
Sam Peel and Duncan Buchanan both picked up tries for Vikings.
