As part of a series of special events being held throughout the Manx Wildlife Trust’s 40th anniversary year, the Island’s leading nature conservation charity is pleased to announce that a digital exhibition, entitled The Best of Manx Wildlife, is to be held at the Manx Museum during October. Made with the help and support of Manx National Heritage, the exhibition celebrates our Island’s unique, natural environment and the people striving to conserve it.
The Manx Wildlife Trust was founded in 1973 following a call to action to the local community to do more to protect wildlife. Since then the Trust has gone from strength to strength, acquiring nature reserves, raising awareness of our natural environment and pushing government for better protection of the Island’s habitats and species.
The Best of Manx Wildlife exhibition includes a collection of images showcasing a selection of our Island’s land and sea animals and habitats as well as the work carried out by the Trust, like-minded organisations and dedicated volunteers, to protect our precious wildlife for future generations to enjoy. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to listen to the voices of Manx Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers talking about their involvement with the charity, their love of the environment and their opinions regarding nature conservation on the Island.
The exhibition will run from 4 to 26 October 2013 in the Manx Museum’s Natural History Gallery during normal museum opening hours – Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
