by isleofman.com 24th September 2013
The final draft of the Working Group One contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 5th Assessment Report is due to be published on September 30th. A total of 209 Lead Authors and 50 Review Editors from 39 countries and more than 600 Contributing Authors from 32 countries have contributed to the preparation of the report which will provide a comprehensive assessment of the physical science basis of climate change.

DEFA Minister Phil Gawne said:

“We look forward to the publication of this in depth report which will provide a clear view of the current state of scientific knowledge relevant to climate change. On an international level it will no doubt form the backbone of future climate change negotiations and at a local level it will help us develop our policy and strategy for dealing with how the impacts of climate change will affect our daily lives.”

Two further working groups will report their findings in March and April next year on climate change ‘impacts, adaptation and vulnerability’ and the ‘mitigation of climate change’ with a synthesis report being produced in late October 2014.
