Principle should be driving force behind introduction of freedom of information

by isleofman.com 25th September 2013
A campaigner for freedom of information in the Island says principle, not cost, should be the driving force behind its introduction.
The Chief Minister plans to bring a freedom of information bill to the branches of Tynwald by December, although strong concern’s been expressed about the cost of introducing such legislation.
It’s been long called for by the Positive Action Group.
Ahead of a talk on the subject next Monday, PAG spokesman Roger Tomlinson says there is an obvious reason why it should become law.
