Cakes raise money for Hospice

by isleofman.com 1st October 2013

Pictured left to right is Kim McChesney, Mary Doyle from Hospice and Hazel Griffin looking keenly at a beautiful chocolate cake Kim had made for the Hospice team. The ladies had dropped the cake into Hospice to celebrate 10 years of holding afternoon tea raising funds for the local charity. During this period it has been calculated they have donated over ?3,000 to Hospice. These cream teas were held in memory of Hazel's husband and Kim's father Roy Griffin. Both ladies also work at one of the Hospice shops on the same day every week and have been doing so for over 8 years.

Mary thanked the ladies for all their baking and hard work for Hospice adding: "having tasted the fabulous chocolate cake Kim made, I can't wait for next year's event."
