Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Microgaming (www.microgaming.co.uk) has raised ?1,094.46 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

On Friday 27th September, staff at Microgaming’s headquarters in Douglas held a bake-off as part of Macmillan’s World's Biggest Coffee Morning. More than 100 employees took part in the challenge, with the very simple goal of raising as much money as possible for the registered charity. Hundreds of baked goods were on sale throughout the office, including brownies, cupcakes and Victoria sponge alongside some savoury favourites, bacon baps and pastries! In total on the day, Microgaming raised ?1,094.46 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, explains: “Traditionally on the last Friday of the month, we treat staff to cakes and pasties, to celebrate employee birthdays during the month. For September, we decided to donate this money to charity and asked staff to hold a bake-off with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support, a very worthy charity.  As you can see from the total raised, the ‘Microgaming bake-off’ was a huge success; I am extremely proud of everyone for raising such a fantastic sum.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning started in 1990; it is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event. Last year, 115,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising a record ?15 million. All funds that are raised go towards changing the lives of people affected by cancer.
