Manx Gas warn of road closure in Douglas town centre

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2013

The laying of new gas mains will see the overnight closure to vehicles of Strand Street in Douglas from its junction with the Isle of Man Bank on Regent Street to the junction with the old MEA showroom on the corner of Well Road from Monday, 7 October to Friday, 1 November.

“While there will be only minimal disruption to pedestrians, vehicles will be prohibited,” said a Manx Gas spokesperson, adding that parking will also be prohibited from 7.00pm to 7.00am.

“We apologise for any inevitable inconvenience that will be caused but the laying of new mains is part of a comprehensive replacement programme being carried out by Manx Gas and while the work is taking place the safety of the public is always of paramount importance to us.”
