Isle of Man Heritage Open Days just days away

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2013

It’s time to discover the heritage treasures on your doorstep, as venues and organisations Island-wide prepare to open doors and offer tours for the fourth Isle of Man Heritage Open Days taking place on 4 – 6 and 11 – 13 October.

Whether you choose to explore the outdoors on a guided tour or stay undercover and visit one of the many exhibitions on display – every activity is free to explore!

Heritage Open Days is more diverse and extensive this year with 50 events and activities populating this year’s programme, with many new venues and tours adding to the offer including a visit to the remains of a 14th century Franciscan Friary, a tour of the boundary walls of Douglas with the Isle of Man Victorian Society and a chance to explore Fungi in Archallagan Plantation with the Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society.

Some activities require booking in advance and many are already fully booked!

To get involved pick up a leaflet from the Welcome Centre, Manx National Heritage sites or find the full events list at http://www.manxnationalheritage.im/whats-on/heritage-open-days/.

If you attend Heritage Open Days event this weekend or next, then we would love to hear from you! Join the conversation on twitter #iomhod or post your comments and send your pictures to the Manx National Heritage facebook page.
