Children offered counselling after Ballaugh pupil dies

The head teacher of Ballaugh Primary School says it’ll be a difficult and emotional morning after a pupil died at the weekend.

Alexis French, 10, died when her parents’ BMW was involved in a head-on crash with a bus on Saturday afternoon.

Today (Monday), staff and pupils at the school will be offered counselling by the Department of Education.

Dr Graeme Cushnie says there’s a strong sense of community at the school but it will still be hard:
