Cal Cooper now third in BSB 600 Superstock Series

by isleofman.com 7th October 2013

Ramsey’s Cal Cooper moved up to third place in the BSB 600 Superstock championship at Silverstone on Sunday.

The IoM Sport Institute backed rider came home in second place after tremendous battle with new championship leader Luke Hedger.

Riding the CF Motorsport R6 Yamaha, the 17 year old Cooper started two drama filled races from pole, his fourth in succession.

The first race was red flagged after a multiple pile-up at Club Corner on the first lap after Cooper had taken the hole shot and lead.

In the seven lap rerun, Cooper led for three laps before being passed by Hedger but regained the lead before running wide and being pipped to the line by point four of a second.

Cooper, down in 12th place in the championship a few months ago, missed the last lap flag and said that at the start of the season he wouldn’t haven’t have believed he would be upset at being second.
