A murder mystery event at Government House is expected to raise more than ?1,000 for The Children’s Centre. Around 70 guests attended the Game, Set and Murder event along with His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Mr Adam Wood. The fundraisers enjoyed drinks and canapes as the drama unfolded around them in three acts. The plot of Game, Set and Murder – staged by WASP Productions on September 26 – centred on Roger Fairlawn, the President of Fairlawn Tennis Club, who invited guests to the Annual Tennis Club Dinner and Prize Presentation. However, upon arrival guests found Mr Fairlawn’s body lying in a pool of blood and then had to use their detective skills to find the murderer. Guests competed in teams, and the winners received a bottle of Champagne. Susie Cox, The Children’s Centre’s fundraising coordinator, said:
“We’ve had some great feedback and a great night was had by all. The guests were really enthusiastic and their participation in the drama added to the fun. We would like to thank everyone who took part, and WASP Productions for putting on such a brilliant show. A special thank you must also go to His Excellency and the staff at Government House for their hard work in making the event such a success.”
WASP Productions have run a string of successful murder mystery events and always promise stories which have a sting in the tail.
