The Friday Morning Ladies held another successful Big Coffee Morning last week and raised ?115 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone who took part, whether drinking coffee, making cakes etc. and/or buying the goods on sale.
Albany Ladies not only enjoy playing on their Friday sessions from 9am – 12noon, but also do a lot of fund raising both for charity and for the club. They have just ordered 44 new chairs for the clubroom and the cost is taken care of from their funds. It’s about time the current chairs were changed – they were bought just prior to the Island Games in 2001. The clubroom is for hire and can be used for meetings, Coffee Mornings, Birthday parties with an hours tennis coaching in the indoor court as part of the package. So the new chairs will be very welcome.

The Isle of Man LTA Annual Dinner and Prize Presentation will be held at Douglas Golf Club on Friday 25 October and the committee would like to see most if not all those who played in the leagues attending, especially players who have a trophy to collect. It’s a 2 course meal, cost ?16 and send your names and money to me. You can put it in our very useful white post box in the clubhouse.
The club match “Ladder” is continuing until completed. I gather some matches have been played and some players have not yet commenced their search for “fame and fortune”.

Does anyone have a copy of the press report and photo which I think appeared in the Examiner at the beginning of September. It was a report on the IOM Men’s Inter County team winning their group and gaining promotion for the first time in years of competition.
