Bridgend Male Voice Choir are sending 60 choristers to the upcoming Isle of Man Festival of Choirs. Whilst they are visiting the Island, they have decided to put a short lunchtime concert on in aid of a charity on Friday 18th October.

Bridgend Male Voice Choir have long been supporters of the Welsh Cancer Research; and due to their links with funding cancer research, IOM Anti-Cancer Association are delighted that the Choir have decided to help them raise funds with this lunchtime concert whilst they are visiting the Island.

The half-hour concert will take place in the Villa Marina Arcade at 1.30pm – an ideal opportunity for some lunchtime entertainment, and a super introduction for the IOM Festival of Choirs. There will be a bucket collection at the end of the concert, to raise funds for IOM Anti-Cancer Association.

The IOM Festival of Choirs concerts begin at 2pm on Saturday 19th October in the Villa Marina Royal Hall. There will be 10 choirs in total singing, in what will be a huge and entertaining concert of many styles of choral music. The Festival finals are held on the afternoon of Sunday 20th October.

IOM Anti-Cancer Association are very grateful to Bridgend for giving them the opportunity to raise funds for their work against cancer. The Association is involved in various projects on the Island, such as the Staywell Clinic (Cervical Screening), Psycho-Oncology Service (psychology & counselling specifically for people affected by cancer), and cancer awareness on Manx Radio. We also raise money to fund research into cancer, its causes and its treatment; and fund equipment at Hospitals in the UK who provide treatment to Manx patients. You can find out more about the Association, by contacting 252725, email IOMAnticancer@gmail.com or visiting www.iomaca.org.im.
