Summer weather good for fishing

by isleofman.com 11th October 2013
The summer heatwave and good weather has meant fishermen have caught record numbers of Queenies this year.

So says Tom Bryan-Brown, chief executive of the Manx Fish Producer’s Association, after it was announced the Island’s fisheries would close when the sustainability limit was reached.

This year, 4,000 tonnes have already been caught – the limit suggested by the Queen Scallop Management Board based on advice from Bangor University.

Mr Bryan-Brown says after a slow start, it’s been a good year for those plying the seas:Clip 1
