by isleofman.com 15th October 2013
Steam trains will take on a spooky theme during half term week, Monday 28 October to Friday 1 November.

There will be four services daily departing both Douglas and Port Erin at 0950, 1150, 1350 and 1550. Young passengers are welcome to dress up to celebrate Hop-tu-naa and take time to visit the Witch's Lair hosted by the Whistlestop Coffee Shop at Port Erin Station.  The Witch's Lair will be open from 11am to 4pm Monday to Friday (28 October to 1 November) providing traditional Hop-tu-naa activities and a spooky party bag for young passengers. Standard steam train prices apply and tickets can be purchased at any manned station.

For the first time this year the newly restored Dining Car carriages will operate a spooky lunch service weekdays during half term on the 1150 from Douglas to Port Erin and a spooky tea service on the 1350 from Port Erin to Douglas. Advance booking is advised to avoid disappointment as places are limited. The spooky lunch will provide a sausage or pie and mash main course and dessert while Mrs Q's afternoon tea promises seasonal spooky treats. Tickets are ?18 for adults and ?9 for children including a food service one way and standard return train travel.

Additionally, the Dining Car is operating a Ghost Train Dinner with a tasty trick or treat menu on Thursday 31 October, departing Douglas at 1900hours. Seats are ?29 per person including dinner service and train travel. The Ghost Train will return to Douglas by 2230.
