Terror in the town and horror by the harbour are promised when FrightFest II makes its chilling way through Douglas on Saturday October 26th.
Organised by Douglas Development Partnership the Hop tu Naa-themed event builds on the success of last year’s inaugural scare-fest.
Spirits – including a regenerated Buggane-like apparition – will compete in the fright stakes with the Tunnel of Terror and a zombie photo booth ideal for capturing a soul’s dead likeness, while among the more benign attractions will be a not-so-terrifying turnip-carving workshop where these distinctly un-scary root vegetables will be transformed into lanterns that will take centre stage in a parade from the town centre to the North Quay. And here there will be Hop-tu-Naa games and a fire show from the Play People that will bring the evening to a close…or will it?
It’s also hoped that people will enter into the ‘spirit’ of the occasion. If they do, they may win a prize in the FrightFest ‘fangsy’ dress competition.
More details are promised soon but for now, as town centre manager Michelle O’Malley says: ‘People are in grave danger of having a frightfully good time.’
