Junior Chamber of Commerce next event "The World of eGaming & PokerStars"

by isleofman.com 18th October 2013

To many, the world of eGaming is a mysterious black box: an industry that has grown massively on the Isle of Man over the last decade, to now account for around 8% of the island’s GDP.  This breakfast briefing will be an opportunity for you to learn about the industry, the different business models that operate, and what the future may hold.

In addition, to coincide with PokerStars bringing the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour to the Isle of Man for the first time, attendees will get an inside view of PokerStars and the Rational Group.  PokerStars is the biggest brand of the Rational Group, and the world’s most popular online poker site, serving a global poker community of more than 50 million registered members. We will learn a little more about how PokerStars operates, and why their UK and Isle of Man operations were collectively recognised as one of the UK’s best workplaces when they were awarded a top 25 position by the Great Place to Work Institute in its UK’s Best Workplaces – Large category in both 2012 and 2013.

The talk will be led by Michael Josem, the Head of Public Relations and Lee Jones, the Head of Poker Communications, for the PokerStars brand, and a buffet hot breakfast will be provided.

When: Thursday 31st October 2013, 0730hrs registration/breakfast, presentation starts at 0800hrs finishes at 0845hrs

Where: Cushag Suite, Palace Hotel & Casino, Douglas Promenade
