Crutchlow pipped to podium place

by isleofman.com 21st October 2013

Cal Crutchlow narrowly missed out on the podium at the Australian MotoGP yesterday.
The Ramsey resident was involved in a close battle for third with Valentino Rossi and Alvaro Bautista.
He lost out to Rossi, but did manage to finish ahead of Bautista to claim fourth.
Tweeting after the race, he said, "Oh well! Big missed podium opportunity today. Tried my best & my fault didn’t see was last lap pit board but 4th is better than last races.
"Now look forward to Japan and we try again as a team! Anybody at around turn 5 next week got any spare fuel on last lap … let me know".
The race, which was won by Jorge Lorenzo, was reduced from 27 laps to 19.
Tyre supplier Bridgestone said before the race that it was unable to guarantee the safety of its rear slick tyres beyond 10 laps because of the newly-resurfaced track at Phillip Island.
