Local traders sought for Douglas Christmas fair

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2013

Local traders are being invited to take part in Douglas’s Christmas food and crafts fair taking place in the town centre from Thursday November 21st to Thursday November 28th.

The event is being organised by Peterborough-based the Market Square Group and supported by Douglas Development Partnership. The group’s Paul Kennedy said: ‘We’re delighted to be bringing our established Christmas fair to Douglas for the first time and would welcome local traders to join us. We are particularly looking for local, seasonal fare as well as good quality, handmade and homemade arts and crafts that will give shoppers some unusual and exciting ideas for their Christmas presents this year.’

Mr Kennedy went on to say he would be working with Douglas Development Partnership to ensure the event captured ‘the traditional spirit of Christmas.’

Town centre manager Michelle O’Malley said: ‘At the heart of the Christmas fair will be an opportunity for local suppliers to showcase their products and for visitors not only to find inspired gift ideas but also to enjoy a selection of delicious hot foods and a programme of live entertainment.

‘Events such as this fair, together with a whole range of street entertainment planned, are set to make Douglas the go-to Christmas destination this year.’

Anyone wishing to rent a stall should contact Paul Kennedy on 07944 599165 or email office@marketsquaregroup.com.

Street entertainers wishing to take part should contact Michelle O’Malley, MOMalley@douglas.gov.im, 696304.
