Get baking and support Cakes For Kids day!

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2013

Businesses and schools across the Island are being urged to support Cakes For Kids Day on November 1. The event is being organised by The Children’s Centre and will raise funds for their charitable projects which help families and children across the Island. The Children’s Centre’s fundraising coordinator, Susie Cox, commented:

“Cakes For Kids is a great event for all ages because baking is an activity you can do with your children or grandchildren. And, of course, everyone loves cakes! We’ve made it easy to take part by preparing a Cakes For Kids Starter Pack which has recipes, posters, and everything which fundraisers need. We would like to see as many individuals and organisations as possible taking part. Whether you’re thinking of baking, buying, or just eating the cakes of those who do, every penny raised goes directly to supporting children, young people and families in our community.”

Once you have signed up you can start baking cupcakes or any other kind you want to make to sell to friends, family and work colleagues. There’s also a chance to show off your creations by emailing photos to susiecox@thechildrenscentre.org.im so that she can upload them to The Children’s Centre website. The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects include Mobex, Out2Play, Child Contact Centre, Community Development and the Community Farm. If you would like to support Cakes for Kids please email fundraising@thechildrenscentre.org.im or call Susie Cox on 676076.
