Have a monster time at the Family Library this half term holiday
There is a monster mash of events at the Family Library in Douglas during the half term holiday next week.
Members have been drawing monsters, as part of The Big Draw, since the beginning of October and there will be two Robots v Monsters workshops with artists Juan Moore and Gary Myers.
They take place at 11.30am on Thursday, October 31, and again on November 1.
The Big Draw is being held across the British Isles during October to encourage youngsters’ artistic abilities.
Other events at the Family Library, next to the playground in Westmoreland Road, include, on Saturday, October 26, the Stitchin’ Witches card making workshop with Sandy Herring.
On Tuesday, October 29, Mike Clague is staging a magic workshop, which will be followed by a free magic show by the Young Magicians of Mann at 12.10pm.
Wednesday, October 30, sees Hop tu Naa banner making taking place all day.
On Thursday, in addition to the first of the two Robots v Monsters workshops, there is the launch of the Manx Gaelic version of The Gruffalo’s Child by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. As well as readings from the book, Gary will be sharing his drawing skills once more.
During half term holidays, the Family Library is open 10am-2pm from Tuesday to Friday and 10.30am-4pm on Saturdays. For more information about the events and to book places on workshops, call the library on 640650.
