Passengers arrive in Madeira - but bags still missing

by isleofman.com 23rd October 2013
The passengers that stayed onboard Monday's problem-hit direct flight to Madeira are finally enjoying the first day of their sunshine break
However, many are still without their baggage despite assurances it would be arriving overnight.
The flight operated by Sata airlines for Atlantic Holidays was delayed for five hours at Ronaldsway after a change in wind conditions meant it was too heavy for take-off and a number of passengers eventually had to volunteer to give up their seats.
Graham Hughes was wanting to go on a cycling tour of the Island - but says neither his bicycle nor his wife's suitcase have turned up.
It was hoped the missing luggage would arrive in Funchal this morning (Wed) - but they've now been told it hasn't arrived on this morning's flight.
And he says there's been no confirmation from operator Atlantic Holidays as to when they're likely to be reunited with their bags . . . .
