Ramsey Men's Darts Results

by isleofman.com 24th October 2013

The finals night of the Plough sponsored house pairs was played to a finish last night at Ali's lair.

The quarter-final line up was the strongest it's seen for years but strangely the standard of darts was very poor. First match of the night and it's a Plough A v Plough B affair with Chris Wade and Gary Uren taking on Mac MacDonald and Dave Faragher. The B teamers raced to a great first leg of 19 darts and what a start to the night. Back came the experienced pair of Wade and Uren winning the second leg comfortably and with them cruising in the third leg sat on 56 with Mac and Fags way back on 258 surely it was just a matter of time but the illness that is double trouble reared its ugly head more than once in the night and it was MacDonald and Faragher who won their way into the semi finals.

Game of the night without doubt, last years champs Tye Jones and Jamie Kelly up against the on-form Geoff Howland and Andy Hudgeon. The A teamers straight out of the blocks and with Geoff hitting a 107 finish and a 18 darter its 1-0. Second leg and the champs are back hitting their tons but Geoff and Hudgie do just the same and they seal their slot in an all Plough semi-final. Simon McCuish and the injured Dave Madden up against Stevie Waters and the injured Paul Arthur the Stanley boys winning leg one, back come the Swan boys with steady 95 scores and miss 36 for an 18 darter and again with the Stanley crew way back on 276 i'ts going to be 1-1 but no those demons show up and the Swan boys blow it and lose 2-0. My dark horses for this event Stevie Radcliffe and Alan Kinrade up against Mark Curphey and Eric Maddox. The Commie pair favourites and win through but only because the Swan lads again struggle on their doubles. First semi-final :MacDonald / Faragher v Howland / Hudgeon Mac and Fags only just pipped to the post by the old stagers Geoff and Hudgie are looking unstoppable. Second semi : McCuish / Madden v Kinrade / Radcliffe.  The scoring and doubles desert Busbie and Stevie as they lose out 2-0 to Dave and McCuish.  The final : Geoff / Hudgie v McCuish / Dave The best pair on the night and so far this season cruising through the final 3-0 and title of the Plough House Pairs champions for 2013/14 . Congratulations Geoff and Hudgie much deserved. Whilst that was going on, our sponsor Mr Ali, was running a singles comp in the other bar for anyone not still in the pairs comp. This was to end with a fine win for Jay Radcliffe who defeated the best lefty on the rock Tony Kennaugh in the final and the spoils of ?30 odd quid. Well done gents.
