Road works in Strand Street, Douglas have been completed by Manx Gas two weeks ahead of schedule.
The laying of new gas mains, carried out in conjunction with the Government’s upgrading of Strand Street at its junction with the Isle of Man Bank on Regent Street and the Well Road area, was not due to finish until early next month.
“We recognised from the outset there would be some inconvenience while this essential work was carried but our team of engineers did their utmost to mitigate any overnight disruption to residents in the area while it took place,” said Manx Gas customer services director Robert Gardner.
He added: “We want to thank residents along with businesses and shops for their understanding and support while the work was carried out and are delighted to announce the early completion.”
