Managing Director and founder of TLC Business Solutions, Sue Gee, has announced the launch of her first book, a guide to effective leadership and development, entitled Who’s Driving the Bus?
Due to be released on 3rd December this year, the self-authored leadership manual arrives after three years in the making, and draws upon Sue’s extensive experience in leading businesses and training leaders at corporations around the world. Who’s Driving the Bus?: leadership and management takes a unique approach to developing individual skill-sets, offering balanced and easily accessible content which is complemented by a bold and easily navigable layout and, of course, the author’s own unique training style.
David Killip, CEO, Isle of Man Department of Health, who has employed Sue and her team at TLC Business Solutions for leadership development training for the past 5 years, commented on the launch: “Sue Gee and her team have worked in partnership with the Department of Health for some time as an integral part of our training and development agenda. I have no doubt that Sue’s eloquent, comprehensive and informative advice on management and leadership will establish itself as a “must read” for managers and leaders at all organisational levels. Who’s Driving the Bus? Is framed in real world language which anyone, be they a novice or a seasoned boardroom operator, can immediately learn from and put into practice and although the market offering books on leadership and management is a crowded place, this one will rapidly stand out. Sue has delivered an invaluable “guidebook” which anyone will be able to use as their companion and adviser on the often tricky journey through the landscape of management and leadership.”
Sue Gee also commented: “I know from experience that leaders and managers rarely have the time to sit back and focus on the theoretical side of things. Luckily, I’m in no way a theorist, so what I wanted to offer instead was a useable resource that invites the reader to step back and reflect upon their practices but which they can also dip in and out of at their leisure. As the title suggests, I set out to create a real-world resource which is fun, accessible, and, most importantly, engaging rather than prescriptive. Ultimately, leadership is about taking responsibility for your own actions and those of your team, maintaining a constant sense of self awareness, and being proactive in your ideals. I wanted to encourage leaders to consider what they do with the skills and knowledge available to them whilst having fun in the process. I think we have achieved that with Who’s Driving the Bus? and hope my readers feel the same.”
